What sort of jobseekers benefit (if any) would my wife be entitled to?

    Hi,

I went through all the posts I could find, struggles my way through both the social welfare and citizens advice sites but could not find a plain english answer to my question. I also emailed social welfare but have not gotten a respone.I hope someone on here can either help me or point me in the right direction.

At the birth of our first child my wife went on maternity leave followed by caliming her jobseekers allowance. Luckily she had a start date in a new job only a few weeks after this had happened. She will have been working for just over 2 years by the time our second child is born. I cannot find if she will be entitled to jobseekers allowance again once her maternity leave runs out?

Is 2 years enough to be entiltled to this? She is 28. Are all the stamps she did have gone from the first time? I'm sorry but I'm clueless about these things and the lingo on the social welfare websit just baffles me.

    Is she in employment?
    Will she be job hunting?
If she has being working full time since the 1st child and has enough payments made she will be entitled to jsb if not it will be means tested and jsa.
Citizens information should be able to help you.
