Are you suffering from homophobic attacks?

In what way? Where do you live?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Yes, I'd say it's easier to blend-in in Dublin than other places in the country. Having said that though, it's got its fair share of "undesirables".

Not experiencing homophobic attacks now, but I live in a troubled area and am afraid to express myself, I'm from a well known local family (non-criminal) and there's been a number of violent incidents, including murder in the area over the past few years....which has nothing to do with homosexuality but I feel that anyone different here could be at risk...a small area where locals are incredibly intrusive....

See a counsellor and will try to explain how I feel to her.
