TAX when working from Spain

Hi all - hope you can answer this question for me:

I am involved in a small family run business, new start up really, but am thinking of running it from Spain - can do it via internet. I will be in Spain over 90% of the year and can run the business online with the help of one or two family members in Ireland.

If I am resident in Spain and selling goods in Ireland, do I still have to pay tax in Ireland or Spain? Anyone got any experience of this sort of thing, living abroad but trading in Ireland?

    Any advice much appreciated.

Take your story bit by bit
    • New business - assume it is a company for the moment. Irish registered companies must have at least 1 irish resisdent director.
    • From what you are suggesting you would most likely be resident in Spain, and for this reason your family member in Ireland would have to be a director.
    • The company would be Irish Company - subject to Irish taxes - CT, VAT, PAYE (if directors took salary & if there were employees)
To decipher if you would have to pay IT in ireland and spain, you would have to determine your Residence, Ordinary Residence & Domicile

If you do pay tax in ireland & are subject to tax in spain also, you will get an offset for the amount of tax you paid in ireland.

You should ask your tax advisor about your proposition
