Sub woofer

I recently bought a second hand car that came with a large sub woofer buried in the boot, complete with what I assume is an amp specifically for it. While I enjoy the extra bit of oomph it gives to the sound, the fecker is taking up a large amount of room in the boot. I know zero about these things, but was wondering if it would be possible to replace it with a smaller woofer and where I would go to get it done?

You can put any size Sub Woofer in if you already have the Amp(If larger would require a Larger amp) it should be a case of swapping it out with a Smaller unit.

Depending on you're Location there are hundreds of Audio installers around the Country.

Thanks for the reply, however as I said I am ignorant on this subject and browsing/googling only got me as far as Halfords - my suspicion is that they are even more ignorant than me.

Ideally I would like someone who has a clue to look at whats in it at the moment and tell me how to get something similar but taking up a smaller space and was hoping for a recommendation of a reputable crowd in south county Dublin who could do this for me.
