    Hi All,

I've heard people saying you can link your PS3 to a shared folder called "Video" or something like that and watch movies from that folder..

So anyone know how to or have a link on how to do it....

Do you have to upload the movie to the net and download them to your PS3 ?,, or can you link into your PC via the PS3 and copy them over ?

    Any help will be great.

you can watch any movies you may have on your pc over your wifi very easily
    install this on your pc
    http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/
turn on ps3, run the program on pc you just installed, should say "found ps3"
go to ps3 menu > video, you'll see ps3 media server, a green triangle icon, access your movie directory then and they will play

alternatively copy any movies etc you have to fat32 formatted usb stick or cd, go to video on ps3 then press triangle and copy over to ps3's hard-drive

I've found Ps3mediaserver to be pretty good, started using it last week - it can transcode video on the fly so you can play those stubborn files that wont work from a usb hd.

For films which i have actually downloaded (to laptop), i use VUSE as the media sharing device thingy.

Most of the time i tend to download films directly onto my ps3 hdd from http:\\ps3divx.blogspot.com and they also have a streaming movies sister site you should find the link on there easy enough; its been fairly relaible in my experience, and its surprisingly quick to download the files. The benefit to actually downloading them imo is that when i cancel out of the film and do something else it remembers where i left off (just like videos used to lol) so i find it quite handy.
