Feedback for Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel

    Hi all,

Am new to this and am just wondering if anyone has any advice for me on the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel. We are hoping to get married July 2011 and want to book a hotel venue in the next few weeks. My finance and me visited the hotel on Saturday and were very impressed with the place. Spoke with Martina the weddings and events manager and she seems very nice and helpful.

Would like to know if anyone has any feedback on weddings or other events like a dinner dance etc. that were held here? Is the food nice? And also what the standard of the hotel is like for these events?

    Thanks all in advance.

Hi - I'd like to know about this as well.

Walls and I just had our reception in the Ormonde. Can't recommend it highly enough. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, excellent food, and they got all the small details right (chocolate fountain, kids room with bouncy castle downstairs, sauna/steamroom/jacuzzi/pool in their leisure centre across the road, and so forth). About the only thing I'd add would be to make sure the best man gets a two litre bottle of water into the bridal suite - it was a bit warm this weekend in Kilkenny, but in the hotel it was somewhat like being dessicated, and while the hotel leaves water in the bridal suite (along with champagne, brandy and port), there really just isn't enough water to hand!

Hi , have never been to a wedding there, but have stayed there numerous times over the last few years, class place, good service and grub and would only imagine they would serve/treat a wedding excellently also?

I've worked there and found the staff friendly and the food excellent.

We certainly thought so, they were just great to deal with and really nice! Do check them out, they are very good at what they do.
