2gb ram preferably and windows 7 premium, if not 1gb ram and windows xp

For something with a little more grunt than a standard Atom based Netbook, you could always go for the Acer 1810tz. They're a little more expensive though, with this particular example from Elara.ie costing €537 inclusing V.A.T.

You would need to preorder the item before coming in to collect, if you order it by 1pm on a certain day it will most likely be ready next day. Officially I have to say 1-2 working days.

Netbooks are just a fashion item.
Buy a laptop for the same money and get a real keyboard, processor and screen.

It fits a lot of people that need a unit to surf the web and go on things like social media sites and maybe forums.

They are not made to be used by professionals for work and they never were marketed that way.

Not true, unless you are trying to make a profit selling them to innocent people on here.
They do not act as a portable laptop, as they are weak and slow and have lots of annoying accessories to carry with them, you are better off buying a middle of the road laptop and buying it from the internet and not rip-off greedy Irish computer shop who are charging us with their bankloans for 4 houses and jeeps.

You don't know what you're talking about. I can get 16 hours of battery life out of my netbook (2x6 cell batteries) for using the web, working with documents, watching movies, playing games, listening to music... etc, all in a package the size of a portable DVD Player.

When I'm going on holiday I don't need the power of a full blown laptop, I need battery life, internet access and somewhere to store my photos and videos (without the rigidity of a PMP)

It's already paid off. I'd only brought 16GB of memory cards with me on a recent holiday and ended up taking at least 20GB's of video and pictures. Without the netbook I would of had to delete photos or find somewhere that sold SD cards.

Also, on a day trip, the guide took photos and video for us. Everyone else had to leave their home address to request a CD be sent to them (I've done this before and they never arrive). I was able to just put the guides SD card into my netbook and get a copy of all the videos and pictures he'd taken immediately.

the OP specifically asked for a netbook, so no-one is trying to sell them something that they don't want
