Just happened to be in Lidl in Wicklow town today, bib shorts €5 and a few jerseys the same €5. In a special offer bin near the checkouts.

For a fiver I am sure they would do you commuting or for short spins.

    It's a fiver!

im sure you'd need a half tone of chamois cream with them babys??.to be fair though i have a top from Lidl, and it has been fine when ever i have had it on while cycling..

Shorts are a more sensitive area than tops. Tops don't matter half as much and good shorts are certainly worth it- but good shorts don't cost a FIVER.

I have shorts myself from either Lidl or Aldi, not sure. They are pretty crap but they are fine for a short commute. Need to put this in context, if they are a fiver that is very cheap whatever way you look at it.

I imagine up to at least 40-50km they would be fine. Commute, short spin, that sort of thing. Depends of course on the rider too.

Of course it depends on the rider. 40-50km to you is like 1-2 km for the average cyclist.:p
