Never heard of them - the in depth report is like something that you would find in the Irish Times. Speaking of which I didn't see the auction mentioned in yesterday's edition. :)

Otherwise known as ICE, they just had an auction at the Shelbourne Hotel whilst it was advertised for the Conrad on their catalogue. I didn't go as I didn't receive the correct information on time so no idea how they got on. Information was passed around the Numismatic Society but I never heard a mention about them anywhere else. Just like the coin fairs they never advertise anything properly.

Can't remember where but I saw a brief list of what was going to be on offer, as you say mainly European, Roman stuff etc. I find it strange that there would be much demand for coins like that here in Ireland. I'm annoyed at the lack of information given out about this auction, I'm emailed by the NSI days before, yet no info on how or where to get a catalogue. Would have been too late anyway. I bet ICE won't even have a stand at the coin fair this weekend.

If you get any results, please let me know.

I didn't notice him either. I'm sure we'll find out all about it this weekend anyway.

It might have been the year before, but what I remember is he had only a few coins and his business card, not much to look at.

Found out about him, he's a French guy living in Ireland and set up here but his auctions are totally aimed at the International market. Apparently he had it all well set up with phone and live Internet bidding. You can see from the list that it's all pretty high end and mainly foreign coins that wouldn't have much of a market over here. He did well achieving way over estimate on most items. He was at the fair with only some samples of coins.

BTW the regular Dublin coin auctions are coming up very soon and catalogues will be in the post if you're on their list.
