RTE News headline re De Burca

    Can someone explain why the news that a resigned Green Party nonentity is b*tching at her former Party leader is headlines on the news all day today?

    The DDA story is well worth investigating but for God's sake couldn't some reporter actually do his job and invstigate it and not just rehash statements issued by failed politicians.

    Perhaps there is a sub text I'm missing?

    It's been well investigated. It's only news because it was on RTE. There's plenty of bigger stories in the papers today but RTE doesn't have many reporters working on Sunday. you'd wonder why sometimes. The reporters will lift today's story tomorrow for Six One

    It's a nonsense story really. She already mentioned the same thing in her open letter on February 12:
    Despite the fact that you have been asked on many occasions over the past few months by the Parliamentary Party to take a stronger line with Brian Cowen and the Fianna Fail party in relation to certain core issues, you have clearly been unable, or unwilling to do so. Unfortunately the effect of this unwillingness to act is that the Green Party has been slowly haemhorraging support because of a growing public perception that we have lost the courage of our convictions and have become no more than an obedient ‘add-on’ to Fianna Fail. For example, I am aware that you as Minister have a key report in front of you from Dr Niamh Brennan on the issue of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority. I’m afraid I lack the confidence that the findings of this report will be acted on in the timely and appropriate manner that the public interest requires.

    This is what RTE classes as a top news story for the day?

    Why? Because it was mentioned in an interview with her on one of RTE's radio shows on Sunday morning. How does that make it a top news story?

    deffo a failed politician she did,nt get her way so shes stirring it up more for the
    lightbulbers......
