What is the model of boiler? most combi's have an intergrated filling loop. Can you see a silvery fexible pipe anywhere?

Also, there may be a need to pressurise the expansion vessel-which is located at the top back of boiler-get on a chair if you can and see if there's a red oval tank on inside back of boiler which sits between boiler and wall.

But,I don't think you'll need to do this just as long as you can fill up the water into boiler like what the other person mentioned.

The flixible silver pipe is usually under the boiler near if there's a cabinet under boiler etc.

    good luck

Yep, be careful not to over pressurize, 1-1.5 is good.

So do we turn off boiler, turn black knob and watch the pressure rise?

Is that a shut off valve also on the left on the fitting or is the only valve the black one?

    Thanks for the replies

The black knob is the isolation valve, so you need to turn off the boiler and slowly turn only the black knob like a little throttle. if you have good mains pressure and you open the valve to quickly you can shoot passed the desired setting, make sure you turn the valve to the off position fully afterwords, some people don't allowing the system to over pressurize over time, Gary.

here's a user manual on your boiler:

    http://vokera.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/compact-se-user-manual.pdf

    (see page 4)

    Installation manual (longer):

    (page 2-diagram, page 6 and 8-instructions).
