The son sold the lightforce 170 on me so I'm looking to buy something to fill it's place.

What's good in the high lumen output with a long range spot beam.
I heard good reports on the Nightsearcher torches, Anyone use these or got reviews on them??

check this out before you order something, I have had a look at these in action and they are impressive, €300 though. No visable beam, just he laser illumination where it strikes.

Hi clive i have a nightsearcher lamp i cant be sure at the minute but think the model is a 750. its a good light, very reliable doesnt give trouble with wires burning under heavy use like the lightforces and not bad on price too. having said that proformance would be a step down from a lightforce 170 and the spot is not adjustable and is a bit on the wide side but perfectly good for foxes out to 200 yards so IMHO a good practical lamp for the money

Thanks Hunter91 that's the sort of reply I'm looking for. I can't see your 750 torch model on the Nightsearcher website.

Looking at these so far. They all give out around the 600 Lumens and cost from £42-£60 and come with a stock thumb switch, scope mount and rechargable batteries.
I'm still trying to get to look at the Nightsearcher that my son bought, not sure of the model name yet.

If you can do the job, do it. If you can't do the job, just teach it. If you really suck at it, just become a union executive or politician.

i see now clive that my lamp may not be the type of lamp your looking for if your after a tactical torch.. my lamp is the ns 170(see pic) and its a handheld lamp with battery back but gun mounting kit is an optional extra if you wanted it but i can still recommend the build quality of the nightsearcher kit

that gets seriously hot, and the 15 min battery would be a pain, but its a serious light, on the plus you could have a scrambled eggs any time you want

I have a Fenix TK40 - it doesn't have a tight beam but I've used a few night this season lamping rabbits with the lurcher and it was fine - when the main lamp I have gave up.
Battery life is incredible - and it's tough out.
