Can't really see where they have improved on Google Earth' features. I always take these presentations with a pinch of salt, as it's easy to manipulate a street in San Francisco but time will tell.

Was amazed, as a fan of the photosynth technology behind some of this, its great to see some innovation out of Microsoft on the Maps front.

I love the streetside overlays, image if you had a collection of old photos of a street in your town. If you tagged them, you would be able to recreate it on streetside... be amazing if they started here in Ireland. My local photo club has 100's of pictures of the town from 1940 and 50's.

I'd love to see it on streetside!

Really? Where in your Google Earth does it have?

Matching photos straight from Flickr onto streetview imagery
    Live matching of video
Drag the mouse skyward to see the current sky (And yes WWT has more images and resolution than Google Sky)

    google maps now microsoft too

in other news the other big search provider yahoo have let http://openstreetmap.org use their aerial photography

regarding image resolution , I'm still mad at National Geographic for their CD box set of every issue, they did them at 150 dpi which borders on unreadable
 this stuff will get better in time

must look up that link to the app that searches for photos of a location you suggest and then photostiches them together - they did it for Notre Dame (SP) - as more cameraphones have GPS built in this could get very interesting

cba looking it up but isn't there a 3D view of Westport online somewhere
