YES! :D great news, i'm a bit surprised tbh...it was a shoe-in for cancellation. If you've been watching the latest run you'll know the quality and writing has been ramped up, it's been really really good the last four eps. of the new season.

Clarke Duke is fantastic, Greek fans rejoice! :D

    Greek to end :-(

Good news as the last couple have been very good.. and better news that it'll end after a 4th season.

It's a show that revolves around college.. let's not make it more than that!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

Well Spencer Grammer is a trust fund baby...so she'll be sorted for wonga. Amber Benson will be fine, she'll get work. Cappie - if you've seen Teenage Dirtbag....he could do well in Indie movies.

Clarke Duke, no fear...most of the others will sink. I'm loving Katherine this season, Nora Kirkpatrick should be fine as well.

When you say Amber Benson, do you mean Amber Stevens? Amber Benson was Tara in Buffy tVS.

I love Greek, I'm glad there's going to be a 4th season. But I do think that's enough. I hate when shows try really hard to drag out characters life spans.

    Season 4 Spoilers
A recent interview with Amber Stevens tells us that Greek will be flashing forward starting the next season with graduation. “The network and the creator [Sean Smith] were actually discussing where the show would pick up because we left off at the point where the characters are graduating and going on with their lives outside of college. They weren’t sure if they wanted to flash forward or not. But we are flashing forward. The beginning will start at graduation. There are still some students who will be at Cyprus Rhodes of course, but for the older ones, they’ll be showing the viewers what happens to us afterwards."

Casey doesn't go to Washington DC and stays at ZBZ to become the house mom

Katherine comes back in episode three and is going to CRU law with Casey and Evan

Rebecca is the new president of ZBZ

Charisma Carpenter, Martha MacIsaac and Nora Kirkpatrick

Burbank, CA (Wednesday, December 1) – ABC Family’s “Greek” heads into its fourth season with some of Cyprus Rhodes University’s favorite sorority Sisters and fraternity Brothers navigating their post-graduate lives, while the undergrads are taking on new challenges – both in and out of the Greek system. As Casey moves on to law school, what will happen with her “college romance” with Cappie, who walked away from her when he learned she was leaving CRU? Find out when ABC Family’s critically acclaimed original series, “Greek,” returns for an all-new season on Monday, January 3 (9:00 -10:00 PM ET/PT)

Casey and Evan are beginning law school – where Casey’s relationship with Joel (Sam Page) comes back to haunt her. While Evan is still trying to get a grasp on financial obligations with law school, Casey is adapting to her post-graduation life outside of ZBZ.

Meanwhile, Ashleigh is beginning her career in New York City. While she is adjusting to her new life sans-sorority, she quickly realizes how difficult it is to get her career started and find her footing as an adult. Rebecca has now taken over as President of ZBZ and must take on haunting foes from her past, including Tegan (Charisma Carpenter) and Frannie (Tiffany Dupont), both of whom return to stir up trouble in the CRU Greek system once again.

Dale surprises everyone when he decides he is ready for new college experiences and has a change of heart about the Greek system. Could Dale actually be rushing? If so, which house will he choose?!

Cappie and Rusty try to keep Kappa Tau going strong with their new pledge, Peter Parkes (Devon Werkheiser), son of famous KT alum Lasker Parkes (Jonathan Silverman). Rusty longs to be a leader in Kappa Tau and challenges Cappie for the Presidency. Will Cappie ever grow up and pass the torch on to his little bro? Meanwhile, a mysterious person threatens to wreak havoc upon the KT house, with no indication of giving up until it’s in ruins.

Guest stars this season include Jonathan Silverman (“Weekend at Bernie’s”) as Lasker Parkes, Josh Randall (“Ed”) as Professor Simon Segal, and Devon Werkheiser (“Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide”) as Peter Parkes. Returning guest stars Include Sam Page (“Gossip Girl”) as Joel, Charisma Carpenter (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) as Tegan, Martha MacIsaac (“Superbad”) as Dana, Nora Kirkpatrick (“Dorm Life”) as Katherine, and Tiffany Dupont as Frannie

Also coming up this season is a murder mystery episode that pays homage to “Clue,” a special episode focusing on a day in the life of Beaver, and a “Hangover”-inspired episode written by Carter Covington (creator of “10 Things I Hate About You”).

Monday sees this kinda hyped ep. various websites have been discussing, expect spoilers within + sneak peek clip. Personally i think it's much-ad-about-nothing, but any publicity is good for Greek (even though the show is ending no matter what):

Most enjoyable episode of the show in a long, long time!

This felt like classic 'Greek' - all the main characters together in the same room... baggage and all.

The cast and storylines have felt far too segregated the last 2 seasons... I know that comes with conflict, but jesus, the show's strengths is in it's dialogue and characters.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

Haven't seen the latest yet, but last weeks written by Carter Covington (ABC Familys 10 Things I Hate About You) was excellent, loads of laughs and great dialogue....it was like you said, classic Greek, well written and whitty dialogue.

But based on your comments i'm now very much looking forward to ep. 7, watch it tonight :-)

Few outside of “Greek”‘s cult fanbase will talk about the show in the future, and that reality is such a tragedy. With the soap cliche-driven teenage dramas struggling so much (“90210″ and “GG” have become non-factors for The CW; shows like ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” and “Secret Life” are indeed hits by cable standards but far from pop culture phenomena), it was so refreshing to see a show try to tell college life like it is, without sacrificing comedy in the process.

Yes, gritty shows like TNT’s “SouthLAnd” and DirecTV’s “Friday Night Lights” might have set the pace when it comes to reality in television dramas, but “Greek” managed to do so from the perspective of a comedy. With great performances from the cast, clever writing and self-aware storylines, “Greek” showcased what a light-hearted teenage series SHOULD be accomplishing.

It is a shame so few viewers realized.

^ a well written article, clearly a fan of the show

Just finished watching the last episode. Gutted it's over.

I only picked up the show fairly recently when it was mentioned in another thread but watched all the episodes back to back and felt fairly invested in the show and characters.

    I'll miss it.

Cried like a baby! Heartbreaking when they were all watching the demolition! Loved the whole episode and though cliche at this point, I thought Forever Young was a great song to use at the end.

Loved that they managed to keep Cappie's name a secret until now, nice little treat to finally know it!

Really gonna miss watching Greek on a Tuesday after college!

I was VERY overtired while watching the finale, so i don't think it has "hit" me right, not sure if i should review as maybe i'm not properly objective, but my impression was it wasn't what i expected. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing....just different.

In many ways tearing down the KT house was balsy for a show, most shows would have a happy ending and Lasker Parks saving the day and house. But Patrick Sean Smith perhaps in his wisdom used this to signify not end, but change.

College is one phase of a young adults life, thus tearing down the house closes one chapter and opens another. While it was nice to see Dale and Laura get together it felt rushed and tagged on, i felt they used Dale very little this season, perhaps the actor had other works commitments as he's the biggest star out of all of them, workwise outside of Greek.

I've always loved Laura, in many ways she's like Rebecca...this outter snob and bitchy girl hiding a vunerability and sweet side. They've had various hints and scenes with Laura/Dale since last season, and it became more evident she really liked him this season, so i'm glad they got together.

I never bought Rusty/Ashleigh as a couple, sorry...not buying it!, when they brought back Jen K. i was CONVINCED we'd see a flashforward and they'd be together. IMO that pairing worked and felt more real. My major issue with the finale was it seemed disjointed and edited, like chunks were missing....according to Aaron Hall(Beaver) on Twitter this is infact true!

The finale they originally was longer but had to be edited for broadcast, Captain?...LOL!, makes sense really but there again the reveal was no really huge revelation. Beavers name reveal was funnier, we also learned Jen K.'s full name!

They brought back old characters...but WHY Lisa?....she's was in one or two eps. from season one, kinda a college trollop you'd lose your V card to, as atteseted to the amount of guys who put their hand up when asked who has lost their virginity to her.

One of my ABSOLUTE favourite characters on the show was Katherine, Nora Kirkpatrick is soooooooo funny!, she got some brilliant dialogue as Katherine. Lots of Cappie/Casey shippers out there, i liked the characters alot, but i was never hugely gaga for them, but Casey/Spencer Grammer always acted the part extremely well.

That's the thing on Greek, it had very good acting from the principle cast, it was never overly DRAMA and scandalous like Gossip Girl or PLL, the drama had great humour and even grounded in reality.

While Cappie/Casey drove off to Washington i felt the finale didn't feel "homage" enough, i wanted more time with the characters and less of the KT house story which took up 30 mins. I wanted more kinda "montage" scenes over music if you get what i mean, i wanted more closure....in many ways the finale was open ended, felt unresolved.

Maybe in hindsight it didn't play out like i expected, i'll watch it again i think.

I knew It!...Itunes has the diectors cut!....5 mins longer:

    http://www.tvline.com/2011/03/exclusive-greek-series-finale-post-mortem/

Further musings, i laughed HARD at the scenes with Dale and Rebecca and that Mathew McConaughey listing of his bad movies!, Dale kissing Casey!....he really went for it + it made her head spin!, one major note....Greek had without question the best continuity on tv i've seen!, they always refrenced past episodes, events/characters....down to the smallest detail.

Very disappointing finale numbers, you'd *think* the fanbase would tune in for the final ever ep. - hell even ep. 6 got over 1.1 million with the so called after morning crap!

PLL went up a nice bit from last week though:

    Pretty Little Liars (ABCF, 8pm)
    - 2.953 million viewers
    - 1.9/3 HH
    - 1.1/3 A18-49
    - 2.5/8 W18-34
    - 4.2/14 T12-17

    Greek (ABCF)
    - 0.923 million viewers
    - 0.6/1 HH
    - 0.4/1 A18-49
    - 0.8/2 W18-34
    - 1.0/3 T12-17

    Decent finale to the series..

.. was just thankful they didn't start needlessly pairing couples off at the end (Casey & Cappie, Dale/Evan & Rebecca / Spitter & Ashleigh etc).

That atrocious cover of 'Forever Young' was an awful way to close the series, while William Fitzsimmons 'Afterall' when Kappa Tau was being torn down was much better.

No real suprises bar Cappie's real name though.. and someone needs to tell Jonathan Silverman to tone down the "panto villain" bit.

Anyways, it's a show that I really enjoyed. It did decrease in quality as it went on, but it kept it's charm throughout.

Really sad to see the end of Greek! Only got into it over the summer after being told to watch it by a friend for months, but loved it!

Anybody have any links to the extra scenes that they cut out?
