Got a PS3 just before xmas but have had crappy mobile broadband till earlier this week so never bothered going online with it, never used to use my 360 on it either as its rubbish speeds meant i either got kicked off a game or couldnt connect in the first place, have decent fixed broadband now so looking to get back into multiplayer after being a single player kinda guy for years, out of the games I own AVP and Killzone 2 are the ones that have it, been playing them on and off and they're fun, anyone got any suggestions? Was looking at getting Uncharted 2 (played the single campaign of my housemates copy) or Modern Warfare, being the two most obvious ones, but is MW2 too little too late? dont fancy getting destroyed by guys who have been playing it for months

my personal favorite multiplayer games are far cry 2,MW2,and MAG which is online only, unchartered multiplayer is not bad did'nt play it for long enough to really know, lent it to a friend,oh and operation flashpoint is a very good one.
I struggled wit MW2 multiplayer for a while but once you play it for a while you'll find youself getting pretty good at it,

I was never a multiplayer fan until MW2,But it is seriously easy to pick up and get the hang of.Before too long you will be calling in Harriers, precision air strikes and Pave low's.very satisfying.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I spent most of the weekend getting stuck into online Killzone 2, its a bit daunting at first playing against people who know the maps like the back of their hand, but fcuk me if it isnt fun being part of a 10 player assault on a Helghast position, all legging along trying to get to a point on the map, good stuff :D Def gonne give MW2 a try and hopefully a GOTY edition of Uncharted might get released later on with more online options

MAG is my new undisputed favourite multiplayer game. Forget about COD (any of them) or KZ2 unless you like the every man for himself style of the play.

If you want a bit of depth and real team work MAG is what you want. Granted there are some games when team work is lacking, but after being out for the best part of a month people are beginning to realise that you need a different mindset to play this. If you run and gun you will get annihilated.

Also get a microphone if you don't have one. You will need it!

Defo mag at the moment. Motorstorm 2 and Wipeout HD are 2 great online racers.

MAG baby, MW2 is such a chore at the minute with all the messing going on.

Also you will pick up Bad Company for about 15 quid. Seriously, its savage.Or you could wait till BC2 in a couple of weeks!

    Get BFBC2 ( released 5th March) you won't be disappointed .
MW2 will only frustrate you ( campers) , lots of variety in BFBC2 .

Oh I feel the MW2 fan boys gather ..** as he rushes for cover**

Bad Company 1/2 or MAG for competitive online.

Resident Evil 5 for co-op online.

I'd recommend Battlefield: Bad Company 2 like all the lads above.

Just to illustrate how good this game is, I only *ever* bought games for the single player aspect the multiplayer was always on the periphery for me, but I'm buying BF:BC2 for the multiplayer aspect alone, the demo is savage!

Battlefield 1943 is good, you can get it off the PSN. Very addictive.
