Hey! I know this is probably sacriligious, but how would I go about selling my songs to a record company? I'm not a great singer, or a fantastic guitar player, and I think someone else could probably make more out of my material with their voice and playing. Any tips?

Hi Susie. You might also get some advice in the Songwriting section. I am in the same boat - write lyrics, can't play or write music, can sing. There are plenty outlets for performers but not for writers. I would be happy to see my songs performed by others - if I could find them.

Id start by making a demo of your songs. Get friends who can play, sing etc. to record them and then send them to record companies. In this day and age of technological wonders youre going to have your work cut out for you though so be prepared for a long hard road.
