Evening all. The Consoles Sports League has opened signups for an upcoming Modern Warfare 2 (1v1) tournament. Up to 64 players will compete in a single elimination bracket (one loss, you're out).

Prizes have not been mentioned so can't help you out there but would be nice to see some Irish flags. Tournaments for both XBox 360 and Playstation 3.

    are these worth entering?

Couldn't do any harm I suppose :) Bit of competitive action...One person vs one person in an arena...Possible chance of prize (or the equally important bragging rights)...statistics that ACTUALLY matter - a tournament win.

Just make sure you read and abide by rules - very different to 'just another game'

This could be mind numbing if you get matched with a camper.

Is it 1v1 3rd person cage match, and how will they tell you when to play?

So it's basically a game of hide and seek on Rust for 10 minutes? Oh joy.

Anyone else played their match tonight? I won my first. :D I'd forgotten about this completely. I probably wouldn't have prestiged if I had remembered I was playing tonight! Won both matches.

Worth giving a reply a shot. Was supposed to start on March 1st (or Feb 29th depending on what calendar you are running :D) so I'd say it could be put off initially...just not too long.

Ninja Pro's a must. The guy I was playing with didn't have it on (even though we were both at Level 37, albeit me at 6th prestige, him at 2nd) and I detected him a ton of times running around in front or behind me. Stopping power would also be a must I think, since killstreaks are disabled (Hardline) and you don't have to worry about thermal scopes/air support (Cold Blooded) here since they're banned. Wouldn't think you'd need Lightweight either considering it's Rust.

Forgot about this too and I only prestiged yesterday. My match is Sunday at 7pm.

How does this work? Im playing against a polish guy, do I add him as a friend and invite him to a private match?

I prestiged a while ago so i don't think i have ninja pro. Having played rust a good few times if it's team deathmatch or free for all i usually stick with a light machine gun with stopping power. Had a few pratice runs with some pals last night but they were not sticking to the rules but did ok.

Stupid question what's a blend grenade its on the rules that we can use it.

    Again thanks for the info

My match is at the same time too. What happened was the guy I was playing against sent me a message saying "ECL match in 15 minutes". When the 15 minutes were up, he sent me an invite to his game which he'd set up according to the rules and we played. After the first match was over and I had won, he left the game and I was to host the other. He didn't have a mic but when I won the second round we exchanged pleasantries and left.

What I did after this is a logged onto the tournament's tree and posted the results and gave the player good feedback. When you post the results it takes a few hours while the guys on the forum confirm the results with the person you played with. When confirmed, it's updated and you're through to the next tier.
    Thanks for the info.

No idea what a 'blend grenade' is either but I just used Semtex and neither of us said anything. If you can, get your Ninja Pro before your match!

    Tell us how it went!

    Brutal to be honest.
He was always doing the lie down when i shot at him and he knew the map better than me. In one game he was using a machine gun ( not sure which one) The other was a light machine gun. Second game i played was better for me but i still was well beaten.
He was always around the centre of the map.Going to one side and the then the other. He used the flash bangs well. Hope this helps
