When do you think the NWO should have been killed off/ended?

Given that it was originally formed in 1996, when do you think it should have ended? Personally, I think it should have come during the Invasion, during some angle where they turn on the Alliance and side with the WWF, and then somewhere down the line, WWF turn on the NWO and kick them out on the side of the road. What do you think?

I thought the way in which they came back into the WWE gave Hogan his last good run which was good from that angle. It got all to ridiculous though when Booker T and Goldust considered themselves members.

When WWE was finished with the nWo, it was on it's last legs (and hips). By bringing it to TNA, it's basically WCW in 2010

Probably as soon as WWF caught up with WCW in the ratings in 1998.. But they were still basically doing NWO stuff in 1999/2000..

I never liked the NWO. Its only use was to turn Hulk heel, which probably would have been hard to do otherwise. Other than that, it helped keep Nash elevated to a level higher than he ever rightly deserved to be, and helped Hall prolong his prominence long after his peak was days were over. It epitomised everything I disliked about WCW; the same tired faces in the same stale mainevent, year after year, holding down one of the most talented midcards in wrestling history. When should the NWO have ended? About six months after it began.

    Respect for the Hips part.
The NWO are like an amplified DX in their annoyance.

Long before it became The Band, that's for sure!

It should have been after Sting beat Hogan at Starrcade 97, but WCW cocked that up.

1998 for me. Sting should have beat Hogan at Starrcade in 97, and through 1998, Goldberg should have torn through them, finally taking out Hogan at some point. They could maybe have done a Wargames that year that saw the losing faction split, or such.

This, they had run their course and served their purpose by that stage, anything afterwards was horribly tedious and self-serving.

TBH they should have done exactly what WWE did with NWO in 2002.. And turned Hogan face whilst disbanding the NWO.

To be fair, the WWE version never really had a chance to go anywhere different after WM18 since Hall and Nash left one way or another.
