Ryanair Cancelling flights!

Just got an email from Ryanair canceling flights to Sardinia from March - May.
Was due to fly on 31st March - less than 6 weeks time.

Does anyone know what the passengers rights are here?
They are offering a refund, but what about non-refundable car & hotel bookings?

Apart from the money it's a lot of hassle because already booked time off work etc.

Ryanair will offer a refund for the flights but aren't obliged to refund anything else (I can't see why they should anyhow).

Can you not get to Sardinia some other way (via UK) ?

I (we) booked flights with them in good faith and well in advance to ensure availability. On the basis that flights were booked and confirmed, we planned the rest of the holiday, time off work, car rental, hotel etc.

Now at relatively short notice they are abandoning the flights because they feel they can make more money using the planes elsewhere, not caring a jot about the people that have already planned their holidays around the flights they offered in the first place.

Perhaps, and at additional expense and/or inconvenience. This was the only direct flight from Dublin that I know of. If we knew we would have to fly via the UK or somewhere else we would probably have picked a different destination.

If it's more than 2 weeks out, all you're entitled to is a refund.
