    Hi all,

I'm in the process of buying a second hand 3 series, there's one which I'm pretty sure I'll buy, but there's a spoiler on the boot which I don't like.

Is it possible to remove a spoiler and replace it with a small boot lid instead?

Depends on how the current spolier is fixed on. If it's screwed in to the boot lid then it will leave holes when it's removed - you'd need to get these filled and painted.

Do you mean a small lip spoiler rather than a small boot lid? (Small boot lid wouldn't look good and probably let some rain in to the boot). If the lip spoiler covered the filled holes from the old spoiler then you'd get away without painting the boot.

I priced up a lip spoiler for a new 3-Series yesterday and it's only €100 + VAT for the part from BMW. Comes primed so will need painting and fitting, but it's just a stick on piece so really just painting.

Thanks for the reply ....sorry I meant to say boot lip.

That sounds fairly straight forward - cheers!
