Too Good To Be True?

Looking for an Opel Astra TwinTop. Came across this this one tonight

    http://www.airsideopel.ie/UsedCars.aspx?make=Opel&model=Astra&Year=0

It's a '07 with only 7,500 miles on it? Is that not way too good to be true? I mean, that's like 2,000 a year. What did the previous owner do, drive to the local shop and thats it?

Anyone had any dealings with this garage? Any chance the owner could have clocked it prior to trade in - is there any way to make sure it's genuine?

If it's genuine, I'll def be test driving it on Sat morn.

It mentions low mileage in the title so very unlikely its a typo. Its 07D59xxxx so i guess its maybe August/Sept 07. Tax disc might give a clue if it has been on sale for a while. Either way its still very low mileage.

My car did 4000 miles in the first four years of it's life, so it's not unheard of. Although i wouldn't necessarily see that as a good thing tbh...

There should be a service carried out due to age so check mileages on that. Ask dealer what the story was with it and possibly try to get in contact with original owner to see if it all makes sense.
I would say its very possibly correct though.

    Quite possibly!
My mother has her current car for 3 1/2 years and it's done about 3000 miles!

It's only ever used for the occasional trip to the supermarket.

    I've an MX 5 that has done 30k KM's in........10 years, so yep, it's entirely probable !

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

alright garage... will screw you on trade in on fleet cars for damages... but i wouldnt say they are into clocking, defo not their style...

have you spoke to the garage about the car... checked when it was actually sold... it looks like mid to late 07.. and when they got the car into the showroom, it might have been sitting around their yard for a while??
many reasons for low mileage... has it full service history ?? check mileage on these....

I've done about 12000 miles in 4 years, 3000 of those would be holidays around France, UK and Ireland, the rest from commuting (about once a week on average, the rest of the time I cycle or use the bus) and shopping trips, so that mileage isn't unfeasible if the car wasn't used that much.

7,500 isn't low at all, definitely not thread worthy :P

Will check service history etc and ask about the prev owner when I'm out there.

Could be a lucky find then...:D

Could also have been lots of short runs on a cold engine.
