    well, are there many '70s Audi 50s, 80s 100s in the country? They're not something you'd see often at the classic car shows. I'm particularly interested in the 80 model, if anyone knows of any that could be pillaged for spares let me know ;)

    I'll start it off with mine:

    You,ll be looking for k 70,s next:D:D

    Between Killeigh and Tullamore on the left hand side is Condron tyres. On the Tullamore side of the factory is a small engineering workshop belonging to John Condron. Old school engine rebuilding expert............and I do mean expert. This guy is the master supremo of engine rebuilds. Any way, he had one last time I passed parked out side his workshop, and the word was, that its running gear was in great condition. then again maybe thats just a legend.........like the man himself:rolleyes:

    Give him ashout

    VW LT28,s used the same audi engine as well, if I,m not mistaken. I think there is some porsche connection there as well, 928 engine block I think.

    [A suitable petrol engine, at that time still the standard engine even for transporters, was identified at Audi, a sister company within the Volkswagen Group in 1976. The biggest engine from the Audi 100, a four-cylinder engine with a cubic capacity of two litres (also used by the Porsche 924), proved suitable and was adapted to the specific requirements of a utility vehicle. Accordingly, the developers cut back on performance, to 55 kW (75hp) in favour of achieving high torque at low speed./I
    ]

    Picked up this on a google. Early Audi engine was a 4 pot 2 litre petrol. Same one was fitted in to the early LT 28,s. Along with the Pierburg carb.......aaarrgghh:D:D

    Saw a 70s LHD one in Listowel when passing through last year - on old Irish plates so must be in the country a long time. Looked like a daily driver.

    Also saw a couple of Cit CXs there the same day.

    Trevor, anything worth saving on the W123 in the pic of the opening post?

    'given away' ?? shurely not ? That blue one could probably be parted from it's owner, but it needs work...

    Yes, the thread is now gone but there were pics of it, it needed work and was the same colour as the one you've pictured.

    How much work does it need and how much would it take for them to be parted???
