    i was thinking about getting an ipod touch but was just wondering is it as good as the iphone for apps.i am only really getting it for apps because i already have a phone and dont really want to sign up to an 18 month phone contract for the phone.so would it be worth getting the itouch?

    It runs all apps in a similar way to an iphone and you get more memory for less money.
    However, there are three things to consider depending on the apps you want to use;
    1. There is no GSM chip so the only way it can connect to the internet is via wireless therefore if you are using a flickr app or facebook app or anything that requires an internet connection you need to be near a wifi hotspot.
    2. There is no camera so non of the photography apps work
    3. There is no GPS chip so maps works a little different and does not give you a true location and navigation.

    i have a 64GB ipod touch and I recently got an iphone 3G for work. I don't use the ipod touch at all really now as the iphone does what I want with the apps i use and has constant connection. However the touch is quicker and if I am travelling I may use it for video and stuff due to bigger memory (or I may use my netbook)

    What apps are you thinking about? This may help get advice as to whether or not there will be a difference

    If you can afford it get the phone.

    Not having wifi with my touch is a pain and i missed out on the O2 cheap iphones by a few days how mad am I.

    There is no diff between touch and iPhone for apps except for what other poster said.
