Halfords in Mahon Point have the Navman S80 on offer.

It has bluetooth, TMC, 4.3" screen and old(ish) european maps.

Displays as €63 but scans at €50.

Halfords give a 10% discount when I show my AXA car insurance details; probably works with other motor insurance companies, AA, etc.

Well I know I get a 10% discount when I mention the company I work for. And its not an insurance company BTW.

I thought the AXA discount was 15%? Am also sure it's not supposed on sat navs etc. but it might depend who you get on the till.

Says 15% here - http://www.axaplus.ie/halfords_index.htm (not sat nav or ipods)

But was only 10% when I bought a bike in August, sale item though and therefore wasn't meant to have any further discount.

From the AXA link..Graco Junior Maxi Hi Back Booster Seat Metropolitan 37.39 incl 15% discount
Bought this in Dunnes last week for €39 including 2 free sun visors...

A few discounts here, including 10% off Halfords (excluding ipod and satnav), saying that, I still got a satnav with the 10% off by printing it in poor quality.

    Are these Satnav's any good?
Bought a cheap one before in Tescos, and brought it back.
Is it as good as a Garmin?

The navman site says these are for Australia? Are there EU/Ireland/UK maps on there?

I've 10% off voucher from work here too. Might pick it up, like the bluetooth features and navpix sounds good.

I used a Navman (ex bargain alert!) for a couple of years before some durty knacker nicked it - really liked it.

Maps probably could have used updating for Irish motorways - but I think that applies to any device.

Would have no probs owning another one. :)

These have UK, Ireland + Europe Maps. (Most googling throws up the Oz site first..)

Maps are TeleAtlas 2007.2 (or .02) so a bit on the old side.

However it's a windows CE device so MioPocket can be installed on it and that can be a foundation for any of the other navigation apps that you've bought.

Checked in wexford store they don't have any of these. I've a hankering for a decent sized sat nav now with voice to text and bluetooth. If anyone can get one of these i'd be interested.

I will take it off your hands if the other chap doesn't want it, some little scumbag broke the car window for mine last week, and need one for work.

I bought an s70 a few years ago. I had not problems at all even connected two bluetooth phone at the same time. Its easy to use.
The only problem i find now is the unit is still working 100% but the maps are outdated and I cant update them. This is a huge draw back.

S80 display was gone, nobody free to ask if they had any in stock.

The S100 was also reduced, down to €65 from €145, the S80 had only a €40 reduction.

I got the S80 that was on display

They actually told me they were out of stock when i asked at the counter. Then I spotted the one on display and asked them did that one work!

Was looking at the S100 but it doesn't have bluetooth or European maps though!
