Want to store films and music on a removable hard drive (Seagate Expansion Drive). New 1TB harddrive. However when i plug it in the PS3 does not recognise it at all!! I read online that i might have to format it to FAT32 which i have done but no luck, any idea's? Maybe this is more a tech problem.
    Thanks anyway.

if you successfully made it fat32 it would show, i'm guessing you didnt, you cant do it in vista or 7 without a third party program, this is a good one that convert it in one click to fat32

Hmmm. this one works fine on vista/win 7 home premium
    format <drive letter>: /FS:FAT32

Just open command line , put in this command where drive letter is the name of the drive you want to format and it will be fine. if it is 1 tb might take a while

check if that drive works at all, if it is seagate , you might find seatools on their website to test it

ive a seagate hdd too, put into fat32 format as stated. A quick format will do then u need to put the folders that the ps3 can recognise . Which are Game,Music,Picture and Video. A folder for each , itll work then no problems
