goin on hols can my partner collect my payment for me ?

    im goin to spain next thurs for 5 days, dont wan to lose my payment what can i do ?

    i had the same problem. They won't let anyone else collect it for you. Unless you know the person in the post office ask nicely :)

    Firstly, no one can collect your payment on your behalf. That would be fraud.

    You should go down to your local welfare office and fill out a holiday form. Your payment is frozen until you return into the office and sign back on again.

    And John, why shouldn't an unemployed person go on holiday?? Did you ever think that maybe they booked the holiday before they lost their job??? Hope you are never that unlucky.

    got made redundant had the hol booked from last year not gonna canx it now, if i fill out the holiday form what happens with my payment is it like signing off would i b better off letting the payment get returned to the social and trying to get it back then ?

    Your payment is simply suspended until you return. Very simple process. The day after you come back form hols, go into the office and sign your signing card. The suspension on your payment will be lifted and will take 3 working days to go back into the post office for you.

    By the way, you are entitled to 12 holidays a year (works out at 2 weeks).
