Hows it going? I am a long time looker first time poster, just looking for a bit of advice, presently i am trying to breed my springer bitch, last Thursday she came into heat, so i monday i collected the arranged stud.
from the minute they met she was presenting her self and flirting like crazy (showing all the signs) he seemed happy enough also ( sniffing around etc ) but other wise nothing. I have him since Monday night and have not once seen him mount her? bear in mind i have not been watching 24/7, the stud is a perfectly healty 4 year old, first time siring, the bitch is having her second litter.
can anyone shed any light on this?

(Ps did the heading is just a joke.)

    thanks

the dog is not gay he just dont know what to do if its his first bitch the dog could be locked in with the bitch all through her season and not line her the only way to get the dog to line the bitch is to get someone that has experience of breeding dogs to help you they would be able to get the dog excited and point him in the right direction

i have heard of lads having to 'show' the stud what to do on the first time sire. a mate of mine had to put a stud dog up on his bitch and 'encourage' the penatration, you may have to get your hands dirty. im not taking the piss btw.

god I was getting worried there I thought you were
looking for someone to sort out the bitch!........joke1
to be honest like yourself some years ago we were doing
the same with Westies and the same thing was happening
we thought she was gone the other way,
leave it to nature she's probably playing hard to get.
you'll probably see the real outcome in about 6 weeks or so .....
Will I get a free one for that...........jokeing?:.......cool:

maybe shes not fully on yet
or maybe hes just not experienced enough
ya might have to give him a helping hand as the others were saying
if ya no anyone that works in a pig farm they will be at that kind of thing regulary with the bores

my brothers springer is a bit like that, what we do is get another male dog on the lead and introduce him to the bitch with the dog there.. what happens then is that this gets him all jealous and excited and he mounts the bitch straight away... job done!:D
