    Hi lads,

I need to change the bulb in my car's headlight so I went to the Autofactors and told him what I needed.

I've followed the instructions in my Owner's Manual and removed the unit shown in the first picture attached. But what I got form the Autofactors was the unit shown in the second picture attached.

My question is: have I been given the wrong thing or is there a way of removing the bulb from the unit shown in the first picture?

    Thanks,
    NKay.

Yeah for some reason the camera won't focus on them properly.

Pictures are blurred and unusable, what type of bulb did he sell you, should have a number like H1, H7 etc?

The correct bulb is a H4 (472) Bulb, if he didn't give you this it's the wrong one.

What you were given was a HB3 Or HB4 what you need is a H4 bulb.

Use the macro mode (usually indicated by a flower icon), and no zoom, and use centre auto-focus mode if this can be set.

But yeah, I think knifey_spoonie might be right.

Depends which model Corolla you have, some take HB4 (facelift) and the frog eyes take H4 bulbs,
My wifes facelift 00 estate takes HB4 bulbs.
Edit:Yours needs HB4 bulbs, they are more expensive than H4

He sold me a H7 seemingly. Wonder how he got it so wrong?

Very few cars use HB4 and the lists they work off aren't always accurate.
H7 is more common than HB4 by a long way.

I am going to order another set off ebay, you can get Nightbreaker or Osrams for similar money to buying individual no name bulbs in autofactors here.
The easiest way to change the bulbs is to remove the entire headlight unit, Easily done if you remove the side indictor unit first then it's easy to get to, it saves getting cráp on the bulb as you refit them as well.

It was handy enough to get out I thought. The unit I had in the first picture like, yeah?
