"Natural Stone" Tiles

    Folks
Wondering if many people have used those tiles that look like natural stone for facing their walls, pillars etc. There is also the "thin stone" that is real stone but cut to a uniform one-inch thickness for ease of use.

Has anyone used this in a DIY capacity & if so, how does it work and how does it look?

I'm thinking of trying it out for the pillars on my front wall, because the way its all built the pillars would look too big with 5 inches of stone on every face.

Thanks as always for any tips/warnings/advice
