This will be our third monthly game. The last two generated prize pools over €10,000.

Jp wants to try out his idea from here

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055555448&highlight=idea

so we're hoping some of you will be interested in trying something new.

    How it will work:

The blinds will increase as normal until the average stack/big blind reaches the range of 25-35.
If average stack/big blind falls below 25, we repeat the level.
If average stack/big blind increases above 35, we increase the blinds.
If average stack/big blind is between 25-35, the blinds increase every 30 minutes.
To ensure that the tournament doesn't run too long, the most we will rerun a level is 3 times.

I remember talking to JP about this idea before the Masters last year and I really liked the sound of it. Looking forward to it, can't see any downside.

This will be our 3rd month to run this game, the 1st two months both got 78 players with over €10,000 in the pot.

Does this game normally go 2 days?

    Thanks.

    Hi Grogo,

Yes the last 2 months seen 13-15 players come back on the Sunday.

Not sure how the new structure will work with it but I'm guessing with similar players at the start we'll have 18 coming back on the Sunday.

    Hi jp,

Do you have a cap on numbers for this?
or will turning up be enough?

This is a great idea. Poker centric rather than cost centric. Could cost you a fortune in dealers if you repeat loads of levels. But the play will always be there right to the end. No crapshoot.

    Hi Grogo,

The cap at the moment is 90 players but I have space for another 6 tables if needed.

I won't have the extra staff on the day unless their is a hugh interest from either here or by phone calls from players confirming that they are playing.

BTW my number is 087 6448132

The last one was. I sent Ian all our results, but I'll double check with him and make sure he has them all.

Ya I'm sure Ian is still working on the results.

We sent him across 6 weeks of results in one go.

In fact I think every game in the country is a ranking game.

53 runners for this which isn't bad considering the Ireland match yesterday and the carling cup final today.

    Prize Pool of €6,890

    1st €1365 & €750 Ticket to JP Poker Masters
    2nd €1100
    3rd €800
    4th €650
    5th €525
    6th €425
    7th €350
    8th €275
    9th €225
    10 €175

    League €250

    Current chip counts
    Seat 1 Dara O'Kearney 230k
    2 William Walsh 525K
    3 Jim Carr 130k
    4 Eddie Mc Cowen 87k
    5 Thomas G 121.5k
    6 Eoin Mc Cann 72k
    7 Paul Quinn 253k
    8 Chris O'Connor 173k

    9th Joe O'Neill €225
    10th Kenneth Ralph €175

It's been a bit of failed experiment so far with 25-35 BB's. We went below 35 for the 1st at the start of the 800-1600 level (34.3 BB's) for about 2 mins before we lost 2 players. The average stack went back up to 47 BB's during the 1500-3000 level.

We reached our lowest point of 26.5 BB's at the start of the 2500-5000, which was with 12 players.

However starting back today we will have to run the last level we played 3000-6000 level again as the ave/bb would drop below 25 for the 1st time at 24.3 if we were to go to 4k-8k.

So starting back to today the average stack is 198,750 (33 BB's) on 3000-6000 (1000 Ante).

    Good Luck to everyone

    Results

    8th Eddie Mc Cowan €275
    7th Thomas G €350
    6th Paul Quinn €425
    5th Jim Carr €525
    4th Eoin Mc Cann €650

    Deal done 3 handed
    3rd William Walsh €1200
    2nd Dara O'Kearney €1200
    1st Chris O'Connor €865 & €750 Ticket for JP Poker Masters

At the start of day 2 we replayed the 3k-6k level for an extra 20 minutes and the blinds went up as soon as we lost our 1st players which was 28.4 BB's.

The next 4k-8k level was only played for 25 mins as we lost 2 players and the ave stack went up to 39.8 BB's.

The 5k-10k level was played as normal but the next level was ran 3 time to keep our ave stack with in range.

All in all I think the new structure was successful but only really came in to play on the final table. I think with a bigger a crowd I would come in earlier.

Once again thanks to everyone who played.

Next Month game is on Saturday 27th March. If anyone is thinking about coming up the country, Luke has he's monthly game on i Fitzpatricks on the Sunday at 6pm, €100 with 12k Chips.
