My Personal Golf Trainer is a software training tool for the Nintendo Wii, developed with David Leadbetter.It utilizes the wii balance board and wii motion plus sensor to get an accurate read on your swing and to provide instruction.

So what do you think?Gimmick or useful training tool?

Personally I see the Wii Remote as a problem.How can you take your proper grip when the remote is twice as thick as a golf club?I see that leading to problems in the swing.On the other hand, the balance board could provide very useful information on your weight transfer, a vital part of the swing.

A load of rubbish like most of those laughable gimmicks on the Wii.
That guy Leadbetter ,the man with the longest pants in golf,such a trier,I'd say he wouldnt break 100 himself.

Yeah, I don't think this could ever be beneficial to a low to medium handicapper.But beginners may be able to take something from it, especially since swing plane and weight transfer are two of the biggest problems for beginners to overcome.

Other than that.. might be good to waste a few hours when it's lashing rain outside I suppose.

I reckon when Project Natal comes out on Xbox 360 we are bound to see more of this type of stuff. Whether or not it will be of any use, remains to be seen.
