So i am currently resident abroad and for tax purposes would like to register as cohabiting with my girlfriend. However I need to get a document from Ireland stating that I am not married to anyone there.
Where would I get such a document, as in which state department would deal with such matters.
    Thanks in advance.

I'd say Department of Social & Family Affairs. The Tax Office only knows you've married when you tell them so.

They'd only be able to say, if requested from them, that as per their records, you are single.
