there is a demand for tefl in these countries. For a start there is a high immigrant population who need to learn the language, South east asian, chinese and Korean.

There is also certain aboriginal groups that require the language to be taught, and pacific islanders may need to learn it too.

There is a demand for it, I however do not have much information on it, but there are some threads on boards as far as i know

With respect to the OP they speak English in Ireland but myself and many other Irish people manage to get jobs here in the summer teaching people English. Asian immigration to Australia is a big issue there, and very controversial.

Is it not the equivelant of an Australian coming here to work in a school during term or summer in a TEFL capacity? Technically possible but ultimately unrealistic considering the fact that there is such a pool of talent already in place?

And just noticed ur in your final year. First of all best of luck! Secondly there is a volunteer programme run by the government that allows you to volunteer in developing countries and u recieve the same amount as the dole AFAIK. . . it might be something to look into. I certainly woulda been interested!
