Alfa 156 1.6 TS. Silver with 16 inch teles and side skirts.

    Good bits:
Great condition with immaculate interior. Engine 100%.
Serviced every 7-8K since I got it.

    Bad bits:
Needs a synchro ring replaced on 3rd gear (prob looking at 500-600) only noticable when going from 2nd to 3rd at high revs.
Needs a bit of work repairing a scratch on the back bumper.
Needs timing belt in 7000k miles.

Would I get anything for it as it is now?

If older than 2002 it's worth sfa or very close to it.

Based on what you have supplied your average price for your car is €6175
so you need to say can I get it fixed for cheaper and sell it or is it going to cost me to much to fix and take a hit on it.

If someone gave me 3K I'd probably bite their hand off.

On what planet is a 7 year old 156 worth that sort of money? 4000 would be more accurate.

Any NCT left? The gearbox issue is a common problem and fairly easily fixable. A cambelt is critical on these cars and not generally cheap. Basically the car has more than €1000 of work to do on it soonish. A big chunk considering the bargain basement prices of secondhand Alfas.

NCT until november 2011. Yep needs about 1K spent on it in the next 6 months. Don't knoe whether to do it or sell it and buy a 159!

Repair the 156, unless you enjoy massive depreciation. Simple :D
