Hello, perhaps some of yalL here have some suggestions.

    Fender Deluxe
    Mesa Boogie Mark IV
    Marshall Stack
    Several GuItars and Basses
    Solo Soundtracs 24 Channel Desk/Allen & Heath GL2400
Some Behringer (I know yeah) rack EQs and Compresors
    2 Presonus FP10s
    Lexicon MX200
    Samson C Control
Headphone Amp and Beyer Dynamic headphones
Yamaha HS50s / Mission Seperates for A/B Mixes
    AKG D112
    Some Shure SM57/58 & Some Beta 57s
    Shure SM7B
    Rode NT4s
    Sennheiser Clip-on mic thingys
    Sansamp DIs

Basically lookin to improve my final product..Will be treating my rooms seperate to this.

I know you have the SM7b but maybe you could use a "money" vocal mic? I won't dare to recommend any, its a minefield. Hows your AD/DA?

I never said it wasn't a great mic, maybe he could use a different flavour is all. Just a suggestion.

id say get some decent plugins

    or converters

as it stands you should be able to make great recordings with what you have

You could buy this mic http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=182262&cat=55

Only 300 Euro. Highly recommended by our good friend Ronan Chris Murphy. I'd buy it myself but the funds are a bit low at the mo.

Thanks for the replies! Don't want to start a fight here!
I'm good as regards plug'ins, have loads of Waves and SSL stuff, more than I will ever use really!
Was swaying towards a vocal mic but I dunno how much better than an SM7b would you get for a grand??? Would it be worth it, could the money be better spent on something else??

PS Maybe my recordings are already great ;) .. but they can always be greater! ;P

you've got a great dynamic mic so for around a grand mic locker wise you could look at:
    1. an akg c414, industry standard, lovely condenser mic (and still have change)
    2. add an extra 150 quid and get a royer-121 ribbon, drooollll:p
    3. get a few cheaper but good mics e.g. audio technica at4040, beyer dynamic m160/130, rode k2

none neccesarily better than sm7b but would give you more options/flavours for different instruments
