The Irish channels are on a transponder on Astra 2D on a narrow beam.

If the dish moved slightly the Irish channels would be among the first to be affected.

She needs a service call out to check the dish and move it back to the correct angle.

I doubt it has anything to do with the card.

I doubt the new card had any affect. More than likely the dish has moved or something is blocking the line of view that wasn't there previous.

Once a very large bird (i hope it was a bird) poo-ed on the LNB of my dish and the signal went to hell ! Forunatly the dish is easily accessed from the roof of my extension and I was able to remove the poo.

It easy enough to move them depending on where it's located. But first I'd suggest you ring sky to trouble shoot the system with them. It might be worth checking the signal strength on the affected channels this can be done through one of the option in the service menu. If the dish has moved the signal strength will be affected and thus reduced.

If you do have to move the dish and you decide to do it yourself it will only need to be moved a tiny amount, but in which direction is another matter. Trial and error move it slightly then restart the sky box and see if the signal improved on the affected channels.

    But first ring Sky .

I'm not afraid of heights but I am (not kidding) afraid of ladders, well working on them ... just too much movement. My own dish is easily located for me just above my extension otherwise somebody else would be doing any re-aligning. You could get a professional to re-align it for 40 Euro or so, you'd have it done right with no messing about and might get a guarantee of non-movement for 6-12 months.
