We're planning a lads weekend away in Madrid for the May bank holiday weekend!

What would Madrid be like for a lads weekend?

Also Real Madrid are playing at home when we are there, any one know would be difficult to get approx 10-12 tickets for a match?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

saturday night is jam packed in madrid especially in and around the Puerta del Sol area where there are countless bars and clubs, sunday night isn't as busy

the best place to buy match tickets is their official supplier, little hint buy tickets in the corners often a 1/4 of the price of tickets near the half way line http://www.realmadrid.com/cs/Satellite/en/1202798190251/noticia/NoticiaEspecialVentaEntradas/1202798190251.htm

    Cheers for the reply!

Could you reccomend any hotels that would be central and not too expensive?

there are lots of hostals (notice the spelling not hostels) in madrid and those are probably your best bet, usually these are small inexpensive boutique hotels located at the top of older apartments buildings, there are lots of these in the Puerta del Sol area, we stayed here, all the bars and restaurants were just round the corner, not sure it would accommodate 10-12 though http://www.hostal-astoria.com/

with a group that big you might be better off looking at renting out an apartment for the few days http://www.gomadrid.com/apartments/

Madrid is a great place for clubs and parties but prices can vary from different clubs. One club was 10euro for Jd and Coke and next bar was 4.50. But a great place. As for Real Madrid games dont buy from the touts at the ground and get your ticket the day before the game is better from Santiago Bernabeu but if you want better atmosphere and fun just hope Atletico are in town.
