windows media player wont play dvds

    on my dell laptop inspiron 8600,the dvd player wont play dvds as there is no video decoder on it

    wtf?i assumed the cdrw/dvd player would do ths automatically

    windows media player is the default player on it,i downloaded wmp 11 but still no joy

    is there a weblink where i can download the missing yokey,free preferably,to correct this problem

    i have loads of rugby dvds i never get to watch so thought i could use the lappy for the job

    Try a different player, like VLC (from videolan.org) or MediaPlayerClassic (comes with klite codec pack, which you won't need for retail DVDs, but is handy for downloaded stuff)
