how do i get money back from my shares

Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I bought shares in a company in 01.the price plumeted and a few years later the company were bought out by a private company.I know Im owed a few quid but not sure how about getting the money.any suggestions please?

You would need to contact the Company Secretary or the Registrar
