Just wondering is there any turntablists out there thatd be like incubus and stuff like that. A DJ in a band enviroment. Want to start a recording project with music like that. Maybe even start a full band
Heres some examples here. Going for a vibe more like the first one though.

Edit: located in the athlone/roscommon region

You could always try putting together a backing track and playing along to that. Okay you lose the spontaneous aspect but if you're looking for a few specific synth sounds or some scratching at a specific point in the track it's a handy place to start.

I've done a good few tracks and added bits using samples, and doing a lot with midi too. Did a track there with drum n bass background and an old smoking is good for you ad, pure cliché but was fun and sounds cool, thing is though I'm interested of the live spontaneity of an actual person using turntables like an actual instrument. Think it might be cool to get together with someone. Have a jam, see what happens. You know yourself.

You sound like you know a lot more than me on the topic :). I really only posted just in case it was something you were unaware of. It's hard to know people's expertise based on one post.

Best of luck with your search!

i think i know exactly what you want....incubus, jamiroquai, beasties, portishead, etc., all the same concept but different styles!

unfortunately i discussed this here 6 mths ago in relation to a disco/funk/ soul cover band with a difference and the only feedback was about samplers and click tracks!!!!

try posting this in the dj section...you might have better luck

Yeah, posted in the dj section too. Jamiroqui Incubus is the whole vibe i'm going for. Where its treates as an instrument nearly. Dont know there isnt a load of people doing it. It is the worlds easiest job :P
