I'm coming across more and more people using a modded controller with the FAL. AFAIK they fixed this in COD 4 right before MW2 came out so why didn't they release this game with a fix? Just another thing to add to the list of annoyances I suppose but they are very hard to kill one on one.

No idea what this is about. What do you mean about modded controller? Do you buy one, is it a glitch?

How does this work now and why specifically for the FAL?

As you can tell from my post above, I'm as much in the dark as you (possibly more). However, going by the phrase "modded controller", one option is that it might let you have auto-matic fire constantly. Which would turn the FAL into an automatic rather than single shot rifle. (Not sure if I explained my thoughts very well there...)

You can't buy them from stores, but some people can disassemble the controller and modify it.

It makes the FAL full-auto I presume.

Much more concise way of saying what I tried to explain. :D

I was thinking thats the only way they could mod it, make it fire auto. Thanks :P

I seen it once about 3 weeks ago. The guy using it was not playing much better imo. It was definitly a Fal full auto.

There is also the use of "tactical layout" which changes the controls so circle is melee and right joystick is to change to crouch and prone. It allows stabbers to hit the button cleanly every time.

how is that a glitch?, I can't get used to it but I can see that it's a great layout for people who dropshot.

A fully auto FAL kills in much fewer bullets than all the other assault rifles, even the M16. I haven't encountered them that often but they are annoying

I wasn't saying it was a glitch, i was just saying maybe its not a modded controller but a different layout which just allows them to tap-fire quicker than normal.

Some people can tap the trigger fast enough to make it appear full auto... just so you know.

christ, there is no ****ing end to what people complain about on this game

There is a nack to getting auto fired on the fal , the same way you can do it with a sniper rifle ,without a modded controller.

As for bringing in a patch againstmodded controllers like they did in cod4 it will not happen,(ias far as i know its because of the machine gun pistols)

Everyone has to start somewhere, wouldn't you agree. So what if they are 'noobs', there's no harm in that.

Were you making a point of some sort?

I was expecting this to be a game mod or MW2 bringing out an editor thread :(

it's not hard to mod the controller in the first place all you need is a button, some wire, and the ability to solder.
there is no reason to not patch it out they just need to set the maximum fire rate for each gun separately and leave the machine pistol with higher rates if needed.

most of these mods works by using the LEDs(lights on front) these use pulsed width modulation, they send the electricity to the light in pulses as opposed to a constant signal, so this mod uses the pulses to deliver the power, making the Xbox think you are pressing the trigger while the real button has a constant voltage passing through (not really the case with the triggers but for some games it treated as digital).

yeah especially since they took the time to patch it out of COD 4 about a month before MW2 came out
