Very much depends on your field, formal dress is best, purely for presentation purposes but its damn hot there so be sure you bring casuals. You must be in with a good shot if your being flown out for an interview so at this stage its all about presentation. Familiarize yourself with some background info on Dubai. Its quite liberal so i doubt you will offend. Good luck with the Interview, seems Dubai is the only place offering opportunities right now

Engineering! certainly the place to be despite last years set back, the construction industry is in ****e here and even though i am in hospitality i worked for a development company and it had its knock on effects, seems Dubai might be a good option for me at this stage. Visited there a few times, amazing place so best of luck:D

Salaries are not great for teachers in either Dubai or AD, the main school that will employ non qualified teachers (must have a degree tho) is Choueifat.. They provide accommodation and transport to work, plus an annual flight. if you do two years you get a pretty good 'handshake' when you leave. Dubai has more expats and is more social but AD is growing. For Tefl its prob best to check out places in Knowledge village. Bear in mind while its tax free its expensive, AD more than Dubai rents are sky rocketing at the moment. Good luck.

Any idea of what other career opportunities are out there for Irish folk?

Very hard to get into sales if you have no GCC experience. Most things are available but companies now will generally only hire westerners for senior and very senior positions, mid level roles are hard to come by.
