Heading away to a stag this weekend in the west or Ireland. How much do folks here reckon would be needed for two nights. Heading on the Friday and back on the Sunday.

Bear in mind I would say Friday might be a write off as we are getting a bus and it will take quite a few hours to get there!!

Hotel and bus are paid for.

If you are a born again Christian and the bus and hotel are paid for, about €2

Bring 250 minimum, you will be buying rounds for the groom and the best man and your own drinking and then your food!

Bring 400 quid, 200 each day should be plenty.

Depends on the itinerary, ie. Fancy restaurants or quick steak sandwich in the hotel bar. I would hope €200 should be enough if it's a piss up. Add an extra €100 if you're going to a nudey bar, and maybe another €100 if you end up in a casino.

As best man at a stag next month I like your thinking!

In fact bring more, bring €700 best men like free drink!

For me anyway there wouldn't be a nudey bar and no fancy restaurants. I think €300 should do the job!

How much do you drink on a night out? 3 pints?

I'd say he'll need 500 euro altogether when you factor in at least 150 per night out.

Let's face it, Friday night will NOT be a write-off. When ye all get there, ye'll be hyper and lushing for a drink. Then you have food each day, general messing, popping into a shop to buy a random item, taxis. Also, most stags do something on a saturday like karting.

Bring as much as you can, withing reason OP.

It really depends on what your plans are for the weekend. Is it just going to be drinking or are you planning on going go-carting, paintballing etc during the day? Is there plans to go to a strip club or casino on the Saturday night?

I wouldn't go away with less than €500. You don't have to spend it all but there's nothing worse than going away and then having to ration what you spend cause you didn't bring enough money.

Actually, in all seriousness, I find it better to use card, as if you bring too much in cash, you run the risk of spending it anyway. Also if you bring too little, you might get stuck.

Saying that, if you're going rural, alot of pubs wont take card, will they?

IMO the best thing to do is to bring alot, but try not to get so twisted that you start offering to buy everyone and their dogs pints.

Going to bring cash and have a bit in reserve. I tend to spend more when I'm bananas!

I went out late (around tennish) a few weeks back and ended up going onto a club. One of my mates was driving so I didn't have any taxi fare to pay and only paid a tenner into the club. I spent €230 that night so what I'd bring and what you'd bring would be two totally different amounts. My guess would be take an average night out and multiply it by four.

I've spent a fair bit on nights out before but how did you spend €230 when you were out late, tenner in and lift home?

I was paying €16 for two drinks. I never bought anyone else a drink all night and we worked it out I had 12 Triple Captain Morgans & Cokes @ €16 each after drinking 6 pints of bud to start off.

Reading it now it does seem I have a problem.:o

That would do it alright :) I would only drink pints and then bottles in a club. Fcuked if I do anything else so I think three to four hundred should be enough!
