Does anyone have any advice on how to pursue a career in this area? Do you have to be certified/qualified in Software Development to do this (ie. C++,Java,Perl etc) or are there different levels of Software Testing.

I have the A+, MCSA and MCTS in Exchange 2007 (which was my elective in the MCSA) and am currently considering doing the MCDST which is two exams (70-271,70-272) and then upping to Enterprise Support with a third exam.

However I think I would be interested in having a career in software testing but have no real experience in that area.

I am currently unemployed after returning from traveling last year, got back in February (jesus a year ago....) and have been unable to find work since, so any suggestions would be great!

Edit: Also what exactly does the ITIL cert in Software Testing do/qualify you for?
