    - they do what they advertise
    - they've started to limit the amounts of various callouts you can have
    - at peak times expect a 2 hour wait, off peak expect a fast response
    - watch out for special offers and don't buy at full price
    - your insurance may provide breakdown cover which does the exact same thing so check it out first if money if tight

Was just some general thoughts I had in relation to AA assuming you've never been with them before. I've not used the breakdown repair cover itself, sorry I misread initiallly.

I've used their breakdown recovery and found them to be very good. The main reason I'm with the AA is because I wanted to take out the homestart cover, but you can't get that on it's own. With my last car I came down a few mornings to find my battery completely flat, it wouldn't even take a jump, and the homestart were great, especially seeing as I couldn't remove the battery myself, my OH had gone to work, and even if I'd gotten the battery out, I'm not within walking distance of any shops where I could get a new one.

i had aa , and never renewed it.

Look after your car, and get a booster pack for jump starting. That should see you alright. And make sure your insurance covers breakdowns.
