Does anyone know if you can receive payment after you return to work until you actually received a paycheck. Been on JSB/JSA for about 8 months and been offered a job thats paid monthly, however I would not be able to accept the job if it left me with no cash for a month. Also if I can receive payment could then transfer them to another post office near my employment?

You have to inform the social welfare office on the day that you begin employment.
you are being giving a payment only as long as you are available to work and obviously you're not available if you are in a job. :)
However you may be able to get a payment from the Community Welfare officer, I'm not sure of that though.

    Hi calvin

I was in a similar situation to u. 7 months on JSB, got a job and also collected my JSB for that week cuse like yourself, it was a while till I was gettin paid. Signed off, all ok. Not... Got a letter from social welfare about 3 months later sayin that I owed them 68e in overpayments as I had received welfare payments that I was not entitled to.

Best to sign off as soon as you start your job, otherwise they'll be sending ya a bill

    Hope this helps

    Matt
