London Summer 2010- advice

    Hey guys,

I am going to be spendinga good portion of Summer 2010 in London on work experience.
Is it recommended that I get an ISIC card, I have a student card from my university- will this be sufficient to avail of all discounts, or do I need the internationally recognised version?

With regard to transport, I am aware there are Oyster cards, and travel cards. I will probably be using the Tube daily, which would be the better option over a five week period?

Is there anything a female student in her early 20s who is going alone to London needs to know- i.e. safety wise, tips to help get by, etc?
