I have heard stories of people waiting 3 or 4 months to get JSA, I was just wondering if they were any quicker in processing Disability Benefit applications? Also, do they always call out to your house to interview you or assuming you meet the criteria can you be accepted on the basis of your application?

Why would you wonder about that ,They are totally different benifits you cant get disability if you are entitled to JSA.
Disability means you are not available for work and if you can do a bit of work it has to be approved by social welfare to make sure it dose not hinder your recovery.

If you are unemployed then you should be applying for JSA and wait like everyone else.
If you are disabled you will need to be certified as disabled by a medical practitioner, not your own GP, one appointed by the social welfare. You will also be reviewed on a regular basis and if your found to be faking it, I believe they really step on people for that nowadays.

So it doesn't really matter which one they are faster at processing, its not an a-la-carte menu, that you can just pick the benefit that suits you.

I believe that the root of Disability Fraud lies with doctors. Alot of them are totally willing to hand out certs without any questions asked. I even know of people who just ring the surgery for certs and get them post-dated for weeks in advance, so they just have to send them in to claim the allowance. And these people who are fraudulantly claiming this benefit are taking the food out of the mouths of those who genuinely need and are entitled to benefits. It's a problem that needs to be tackled as a matter of urgency but people are too scared to report fraudsters in case of a comeback on themselves. So the problem goes on and on....

I waited for just over 4 months for JSA, but when I first applied, I was told to go to see the local community welfare officer, she was able to make a decision about supplementary welfare allowance that day, which was fantastic. The supplementary payments stopped whan the JSA was approved.

The didn't come to my house for the means test, but they are entitled to do it if they want, so telling porkies is a stupid idea.

as for disability or jobseekers, it's not a menu where you pick what suits you.

There's no such thing as 'disability benefit'. There are two different schemes called illness benefit and disability allowance.

If you are not working and would be entitled to disbaility than which should you apply for since I don't think you can do both? Also, I was considering renting out a couple of rooms, is there a definite call out to the house as part of the process?

Dude240502 this is not a forum on how to advise on how to fraud social welfare.
Illness Benefit/Disability Allowance is for when you are unable to work due to illness - as advised previously on this thread.
Jobseeker's Benefit/Allowance is a payment when you are fit for and looking for work.
