New Brit Camo

Just wondering if anyone has any idea how long it would take for surplus to become available of the new Brit "multi terrain pattern" camo?
Are we talking 2 years?

Most likely an entire tour after its released before its available. it'll probably go out in more of a trickle than a flood too so it could be quite a while before they start flogging it off.,

However, the next TA Events game has Multicam\MTP as one of the factions on the assumption that it'll be all over the place for cheap by May. I'd expect things to go as Masada suggests though.

There's only 30 places available on that side. Not a problem to fill that facion.

that is more people will be using multicam as a stand in, surplus will not be available before may considering it is only just being rolled out, you are likely thought to see maybe a commercial copy on sale by the end of the year

The first issue of it is to the next rotations in Afghanistan, beginning in March this year, followed by the next one in August/September.

The current fielding plan is that the main rollout to the rest of the Army will start in 2011, to be completed sometime in 2012. It will be issued to complete units, to avoid mixtures. Since Op Herrick battle groups are made up of elements from many units, those who return from Astan with MTP to a home unit which has not transitioned yet will revert to DPM and put the MTP to the back of the wardrobe until their unit changes as a whole.

Part of the delay is to get enough stocks made up to dress whole regiments, part of it is to allow long-lead items like vests and Goretex jackets to be made, and part of it is because the design & cut of the jacket, shirt and trousers is changing too.

So I think we'll have to wait a while. And there'll be a whole lot of surplus DPM on the market in the meantime.

the new camo is only replacing soldier 95 DPM there keeping the standard desert thatch reed camo for afghanistan and desert conflicts

Sorry G, not quite. The plan that they've announced is to equip soldiers in Afghanistan with the camo needed for their AO. In the mountains & deserts they'll continue to wear DDPM, in Helmand and the Green Zone they'll wear MTP. From March everyone will be issued with MTP as needed, not just the Specials.

pictures are abit unclear though, i know theres a close up of the camo itself but i wish there were more clearer pictures of it actualy with all gear on etc. and of higher quality etc!
looks well though, dont see whats so wrong with normal multi cam though

Ah, multicam isn't straighty-liney-swishy-shapey enough for the British Army. Easy work for Crye to make it less splodgey-dotty-patchy-meshy and more like ... well ... multicam DPM. Large scale orders for active AO - multi win for multicam manufacturers!

popular really?besides the hawks i have only seen a few people with it,(i will post no more on the matter,just in case )

Plain tan or plain OD mixed with the matching gear will be the way to go
