    Hi all,
I've been put on a three day week and I'm trying to figure out what I'll be entitled to. If anyone knows how it's figured out it would be great.

I know I'll get half dole (As I'm working 3 out of 6 days possible) and I know the max I'll get is €150 (as I'm not old enough to have screwed up the economy myself by buying a semi-detached in Laois for half a million.) I haven't gotten enough class A PRSI contributions so it's going to be means assessed. How exactly do they do that? There is, I assume, some arbitrary amount of things they take into account etc???

    Thanks for any help

Quick summary, once you are assessed you'll be awarded a certain payment amount, possibly 196 euro since you'll be well under the means test amount if you're only making 150 quid a week.

Once you are awarded the amount, its then divided by 6 to get your daily rate and muliplied the number of days which you are not working.

So if you are entitled to the full payment you will be getting 98 euro per week in JSA.

Sorry, I meant I can only get 150 as I'm 24. I'm earning €225 a week at the moment from three days a week.

Do you know about rent support etc? I hate to say it but depending on what happens I may well be moving home, my rent is €500 a month which is about €120 a week and once you put bills on top of that there aint much left :(...
